Lodi Locals

Good morning, Lodi. Fun fact for your coffee today there is a real thing called a 0.05K race, which is about 164 feet of “running” that usually involves more costumes and snacks than actual cardio.

In today’s Lodi Locals

  • Family events, salmon in the river, and a new indie bookshop

  • Pizza pop up at a local winery

  • Line dancing night at the brewery

  • Jazz and wine downtown

Let’s get into it.

Bet you didn’t know…

There is ANOTHER COFFEE SHOP OPEN IN LODI! AND IT OPENS TODAY!

Yes, today as in right now as you’re reading this. It is soft open which is why there hasn’t been much talk about it…yet.

Fierro Fuel specializes in artisan matcha and craft coffees! They’ve been working tirelessly to get their shop opened and with lots of hard work and dedication, they’ve made it happen.

They’re also partnering with Rooted In Lodi which is a store I absolutely adore. If you need a plant (or 20) or a cute and personal gift for a loved one, that’s the place to go. Some of their inventory will also be for sale at Fierro Fuel.

So Lodi, let’s welcome these new businesses with lots of love and support!!!!

📍Fierro Fuel Craft Coffee & Artisan Matcha - 400 E kettleman Ln ste 10, Lodi, California 95240

A bookshop just opened in Lodi and I am NOT going to be chill about it.

Midnights Bookshop is officially opening this Friday and they’re giving away TWO $25 gift cards over opening weekend! All you have to do is spend $10 in-store and leave your email at checkout. So basically you’re just… buying a book. Which you were going to do anyway. You’re welcome.

This is the kind of local business that makes this town feel like home. Go show up for them. April 17–19.

Defiant Baking Pizza Pop-Up at Bokisch | Saturday, April 18 | 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm

This is such a good Saturday play if you like slow afternoons and good pizza. Defiant Baking is rolling their pizza setup out to Bokisch, so you can grab a tasting flight, post up at a table, and share a pie with whoever you managed to drag out of town that day. They do those nicely blistered crusts and fun toppings that actually work with the wines, and the vibe on the patio is super casual, kids running around, lots of locals, nobody in a rush. It is free to show up, you just pay for what you eat and drink, which makes it an easy “let’s just go see how it feels” kind of plan.

📍 Bokisch Vineyards, 18921 Atkins Rd, Lodi, CA 95240

64th Annual Spring Art Show | Sunday, April 19 | 12:00 - 4:00PM

If you want something mellow after a busy Saturday, the Spring Art Show is a nice way to ease into Sunday. This is the 64th year, which means you get that fun mix of longtime Lodi artists and newer folks who are just starting to show their work. It is very come as you are, very Lodi, and a good reminder that we have more going on here than just wine and beer.

The Jebby Trio | Saturday, April 18 | 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm

If you want that easy downtown Saturday night where you can park once and just hang out, The Jebby Trio at Cellardoor is a solid move. They lean into jazz and blues, which fits the brick walls and candlelight vibe in there really well, and it always feels like the band is playing to the room instead of just blasting background noise. Grab a glass, catch a set, pop out to say hi to people on School Street, then slide back in for a few more songs.

📍 Cellardoor Wine Bar, 21 N School St, Lodi, CA 952

Line Dancing at Five Window Beer Co. | Saturday, April 18 | 6:00 - 10:00 PM

If you keep saying you want to try line dancing and never actually make it out, this is the one to show up for. Five Window stays pretty low key, so you get a mix of people who know every move and people who are clearly just out there figuring it out and laughing their way through it. There is a 5 dollar cover at the door, but honestly that is a small price for a night where you get to move a little, hear some good songs, and feel like you actually did something with your Saturday.

PaddleFest at Lodi Lake | Saturday, May 9 | 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

If you have been looking for an excuse to finally get the kids out on the water, this is it. PaddleFest takes over Lodi Lake with kayaking, paddleboarding, food trucks, and live music all in one spot. It is one of those days where you show up planning to stay an hour and end up staying all afternoon.

📍 Lodi Lake, 1101 W Turner Rd, Lodi, CA 95242

Golden State Pinball Festival | Friday–Sunday, May 15–17 | Fri 1:00 PM - 11:00 pm | Sat 10:00 AM - 12:00AM | Sun 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The Golden State Pinball Festival is back and it is exactly as fun as it sounds. Over 300 pinball machines are on free play with your admission, meaning once you are in, you just play. No extra cash, no tokens, no nickels hunting around in your pockets. Kids 5 and under get in free, there is youth pricing for older kids, and tournaments run throughout the weekend if your family has a little competitive energy to burn.

This one takes over the Grape Festival grounds for a full three days, so there is plenty of room to roam, find your favorite machine, and lose track of time in the best way. Food is there too, so plan to stay a while. Friday through Sunday gives you options, whether you want a Friday afternoon kickoff or a laid back Sunday morning session. Grab your tickets and check the full schedule at the Golden State Pinball Festival site.
