Lodi Locals
Good morning, Lodi!
It’s mid-week and mid-May which means that events are popping up left and right in preparation for the upcoming weekends and for summer break. This edition especially excites me because there is plenty of fun you can attend for close-to-free that caters to both adults AND kids. As a parent, I know finding those events that will not only excite the kids, but excite you as well, can be a challenge. Luckily, I am up for that kind of challenge.

Mike Jones & The Ying Yang Twins | Saturday, May 23 | 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm
If you've ever wanted to bring some early-2000s hip-hop energy to a Saturday night in downtown Lodi, here it is. Five Window Beer Co. is pulling off something genuinely exciting: a live show headlined by Mike Jones and the Ying Yang Twins. Real names, real hits, right here on West Locust Street. Think "What's Happenin'," "Salt Shaker," and a crowd that absolutely knows every word. The venue is small enough that this is going to feel like a proper show, not an arena experience from a hundred rows back.
Tickets are tiered, prices go up once Tier 2 sells out, so buying now gets you the better deal. The event is all ages, though parental discretion is advised. Grab your tickets here. All sales are final.

Yoga With Goats | Sunday, May 17 | 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Okay I have to be honest with you…I personally met their five week old baby goats at the American Fare and they are genuinely the most adorable things I have ever seen in my life. So when I tell you that you can do yoga surrounded by them, get cheese after, and sip wine while you're at it, I am telling you this with full personal conviction: you need to go.
Goat Yoga on the Farm is a 45-minute outdoor yoga class where baby goats are just out here living their best lives around you — climbing on you, snuggling up, and making it absolutely impossible to take yourself too seriously. No experience needed, all levels welcome, and I promise the goats do not care if your form is perfect. It is one of those mornings that just feels really good for your soul.
After class you get a post-class flight of award-winning farmstead cheeses, and wine by the glass and tastings are available for purchase if you want to turn it into a full experience (21+). The farm store opens at 9 AM and has coffee, yogurt parfaits, and mimosas ready for you before or after class. Come early, make a whole morning of it.
One thing worth knowing is that the Goat Yoga experience only runs March through June while the baby goats are on the farm. Participants need to be 11 or older, and anyone under 18 needs a ticketed adult along for the fun. This season goes fast and honestly after seeing those goats up close I completely understand why.

SJKC All Breed AKC Dog Show | Friday – Sunday, May 29 – May 31 | 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
If you want to spend a morning surrounded by somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 dogs, yes, really the San Joaquin Kennel Club's annual all-breed show is your weekend. This is one of the longest-running dog shows in the region, with over 100 years behind it, and it's legitimately fun whether you know what a "Best in Show" judge is looking for or not. You'll find conformation rings, obedience and rally trials, Junior Handler competition, and vendors selling everything dog-related you can imagine. Free tours of the show are available, and there's an education booth with materials in both English and Spanish.
Admission is free. Parking is $10. Group judging typically kicks off around 2:00 pm, followed by the Best in Show competition. That's the moment worth staying for if you only have a few hours.

⭐️ Lodi Pride 2026 | Saturday, June 6 | 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Lodi Pride is back for 2026 with a new theme "Pride Grows Here" and a new home at Idol Beer Works. This is the kind of day that covers a lot of ground: a main stage with a DJ and family-friendly performances, a 21+ beer garden, an acoustic corner with poets and solo musicians, a community fair with local artisans and nonprofits, and an activities area stocked with games and crafts for kids. It's free, it's in downtown Lodi, and it's one of those events that consistently brings out a crowd that's just happy to be together. A New Lodi has been building this since 2020, and the community support behind it is real.
Admission is free and donations are welcome. Vendor booths and the beer garden are both on-site. If you're interested in volunteering, head to anewlodi.org to sign up.

This one is genuinely one of the best free nights Lodi puts on all summer, and it kicks off May 27. The City of Lodi's Music in the Park series runs every fourth Wednesday through August, and the setup couldn't be more family-friendly: bring a picnic blanket or a low lawn chair, find your spot on the West Park grass at Hutchins Street Square, and settle in for two hours of live music while the kids run around and the sun goes down. Food vendors are on-site if you'd rather not pack dinner. It's low-lift, free, and genuinely fun for every age.
No tickets, no cost just show up. Parking is available nearby in downtown Lodi.

✨Community Spotlight

Lodi's newest coffee spot has been buzzing since its soft opening, and the grand opening is almost here. Fierro is officially celebrating on May 23rd, and if you have not made it out yet, this is your sign.
There will be vendors, a DJ, and nothing but amazing vibes. Stop by from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for the festivities.
Fierro is not your average caffeine stop. This is craft coffee and artisan matcha designed for people who actually care about what is in their cup. The vibe is clean, intentional, and very much built with the Lodi community in mind.
The drink that everyone keeps talking about is the Strawberry Matcha Latte, and for good reason. It is exactly the kind of thing that looks beautiful, tastes even better, and will absolutely end up on your Instagram before you finish it. If you are more of a coffee person, the Spanish Latte has been a standout since day one of the soft opening — smooth, slightly sweet, and the kind of drink that makes you want to sit in your car for an extra five minutes just to finish it.
Fierro also carries plants alongside their menu, which feels very on-brand for a spot that just gets it. Hours are Monday through Friday 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM and Saturday through Sunday 7:30 AM to 4 PM.
Mark May 23rd on your calendar, bring a friend, and go support one of Lodi's newest small businesses doing things the right way.

Craft Night: Moss Wall-Hanging with Olive Crush | Tuesday, May 19 | 5:30 pm
If you want a Tuesday evening that actually feels like something, this is your move. Olive Crush Farms is hosting a hands-on craft night where you'll build your own moss wall-hanging, a living, textural piece you can take home and actually put on a wall. It's the kind of event that's equal parts creative outlet and good excuse to leave the house on a weeknight, and Olive Crush has a track record of making these nights genuinely fun rather than just another class. Grab your spot through the Facebook event page and check for ticket details before you go.

Textile Embroidery with Lindsey Rose - Session 1 | Saturday, May 16 | 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Lindsey Rose is back at the Lodi Community Art Center with a new workshop series, and if you've been looking for a reason to finally try working with thread and textile, this is the one. Session 1 focuses on textile embroidery, a tactile, meditative medium that rewards patience and produces something genuinely beautiful. Lindsey keeps her classes small (five to sixteen students) so you actually get instruction rather than a tutorial you could have watched at home. Materials are included. Members pay $79 and non-members $89, reserve your spot through the LCAC Facebook event or by contacting Lindsey directly at [email protected].
