If you want to take the planning completely off mom's plate, this is probably the move. The Lodi Wine Trolley runs a dedicated Mother's Day tour on Saturday with two departure times. You start at Wine and Roses with a mimosa, ride through wine country to Block 21 Winery for a chef-prepared lunch and tasting flight, then end at Vigna del Sole Lavender Farmstead where you can walk the fields and put together your own lavender bouquet. Mother’s Day Brunch At Brick House | Sunday, May 10th | Times Vary

Once again, Brick House is throwing a beautiful Mother’s Day Brunch and you don’t want to miss it! The menu is already making me hungry as it includes Crab and Prawn Louie Salad, House Made Quiche with Asparagus, Broccolini, Portobello Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions and Gouda Cheese. Served with a Spring Raspberry Vinaigrette Salad, Pork Belly Benedict, and bottomless mimosas or Bloody Mary’s. It’s $60 a person and reservations can be made online.

Bokisch is doing their picnic under the La Rapita Oak Tree again this year. Two seatings, same setup for both. They bring the table, the tablecloth, the flowers, the ice bucket. You bring the food. Mom gets a complimentary glass of wine. There is a full bar under the oak for glass and bottle purchases if you want to keep going. Tables seat up to six. It is $55 per table for general admission, $50 if you are a wine club member. Space is limited and reservations are required, so do not wait on this one. Jessie's Grove is closing out Mother's Day with RetroFitz on the lawn. They play the kind of classic covers that everyone in the room already knows, which is exactly what you want on a Sunday afternoon with your family. Pi Bar Nomad, Rows Roll, and Hog House BBQ will all be onsite for food. Walk-ins are welcome, just bring lawn chairs. No cover.

Michael David is hosting a Mamma Mia-themed Mother's Day brunch at Bare Ranch, their historic property on Davis Road. Morada Eats is catering a Greek-inspired spread, two mimosas included per person. Six miles east of downtown, Heritage Oak sits right along the Mokelumne River with a trail that takes you down to a private beach. It is one of those spots that feels a little tucked away even though it is not far at all.

This Mother's Day they are hosting Marty Cohen and the Sidekicks outside from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Free to attend. Pack a picnic or grab something from Miss B's on site. Wine is available by the glass or bottle. No outside alcohol and no tasting flights during the event, but honestly you are not going to need them. Dogs are welcome. Kids are welcome. It is that kind of afternoon.

Oak Farm is closing its doors to the general public this Saturday and opening them to something else entirely. The SJ Hospice Foundation is throwing a Derby watch party out there and honestly the setting makes sense. Big hats, a glass of something good, and a reason to actually care about a horse race for three minutes. Proceeds go to hospice care across San Joaquin County. That part matters. The rest is just a good afternoon with people who showed up for the right reasons.

400 vendors take over School and Church Street every year and somehow it still feels worth going to. You will not make it through the whole thing. Nobody does. But you will find something you were not looking for, eat something you probably did not need, and run into at least four people you know. That is the deal and it has always been the deal. Downtown Lodi is good at this kind of thing.

Pet Supplies Plus on Stockton street is doing a Cinco de Mayo thing for pets and the people who love them. Midday Tuesday, which means it is either perfect for you or completely impossible depending on your schedule. If you can swing it and you have a cat or a dog who tolerates outings, it is a low key way to spend a lunch hour. Sometimes that is all you need.
